10 November 2013: A message from the GDEIM IZIK GROUP

In response to the serious condition that our fellow political prisoner LAROUSSI ABDEJALIL is suffering (caused by hypertension that is continuously elevated at 26/13, in addition to the pain he is suffering in his knees, caused by being tortured during interrogations and the overall ill-treatment practiced at the Sale 1 Prison) which is putting his life in danger, and having exhausted our attempts to appeal to the Morroccan authorities:

We, the group of Gdeim Izik political prisoners, are entering into a 24-hour hunger strike on 11 November 2013, in solidarity with Laroussi Abdeljalil, condemning this ill-treament to which we are all subjected.

We are using this situation to call upon every Human Rights organisations, and the solidarity movement more widely, to intervene and put pressure on the Morroccan Authorities to provide adequate medical treatment and recognise all of our rights.
