The correspondence addresses recent reports suggesting support for Moroccan sovereignty over the territory and the proposed establishment of an autonomy framework under Morocco\u2019s rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the letter, we emphasized that Western Sahara remains a Non-Self-Governing Territory<\/strong>, and that its people alone hold the inalienable right to determine their political status and future<\/strong>. Any attempt to impose autonomy without the consent of the Sahrawi people would amount to annexation<\/strong>, in direct violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and multiple UN resolutions<\/strong> affirming the right of self-determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
